Cache Files Empty
« on: June 12, 2016, 01:15:29 PM »
I cleared my Sims 3 cache files on regular basis, but the cache files for Sims 4 have always been empty. I've never had a problem so I didn't give it much thought.  However, my game has been lagging a bit the last couple of days.  The files are still empty so there's nothing for me to clear.  I've tried repairing the game, but it hasn't helped.  Does anybody else have empty cache files? Any solutions?

Thank you!

(It does appear that the repair has solved the lagging issue. But I'm still worried about the cache files. Why are they empty??)

It's okay that the cache folder is empty, specially if you play offline or with Online Features turned off.

The cache folder contains the .jpg files as well as the .dat that you find in the cache folder are safe to delete. These come from viewing households/lots from the gallery. If you play with the Online Access Feature turned off, or play offline, you may not have anything in this folder.

Read more about it in the link below:

Thank you for the information!  However, I always play with the online features turned on.  I assume that the empty files still don't matter since my game works fine, but I just find it a little odd.

@kellie13

Unless you're actively looking at the gallery, you won't find anything, at least that's how I believe it works.
