Looking to buy a new computer with Mods into consideration
« on: June 09, 2016, 07:36:39 PM »
So I've come into that time of year where I need a new computer and discovered a while ago the one I have currently didn't even work with Sims 4 or my mods, so it was kind of disappointing having to play without them! Especially since some of my favorite people have been posting new mods like mad while others have sadly vanished. I saved all my mods currently on a jump drive so no worries about losing the vanished ones!

I am willing to spend between $1k-$2k (but not too much above that) because I also plan to do some school work and YouTubing on said computer. Ironically Sims 4 is really the only BIG game I have, others are small Indie games that hardly take up space and I only have 5 of those. XD Yandere Simulator ftw! Love that game. So if you want to take that into consideration, I don't really do much gaming outside of Indie games and Sims.

But ahem any help would be great because all the reviews are pretty much equal about gaming PC's and I just have no idea anymore. >< I'm confusing myself and not sure what to buy. Any help would be appreciated, thank you so much and I do apologize if this is not the right place to ask or we're no longer able to ask I didn't see anything like that but I'm taking 2 summer classes so brain's on the down low t-t

This list may look like it's got a lot of laptops listed. But it's only really got a few.

What I've done is found a couple of MSI that the only difference is one is a 15" and the other is a 17" but have the same specs. - These are the first two in the list below. There is a lower priced 17" MSI thrown in just because.

And two ASUS ROG's. Not sure what the real difference is other than the processor, spec wise.

All of these laptops will run Sims 4 on high settings with mods/cc. However please note that the more content you add like mods and custom content, the more the game may lag. This is due to the way the game handles additional content. Not much can be done to speed that up, unfortunately. Also Each patch adds new stuff which can cause issues with what worked before.

Thank you so much this really helps me narrow down my choices! I was so overwhelmed! And yeah I've had to give up many mods because of updates, some were quite fun to abuse on Sims 4, and I'm quite choosy about mods. XD I don't have too much but it seems the computer I have now can't even handle a couple of folders =__= *sigh* But Thank you So So So much MrsFlynn!
