Sims 3 & 4 Desktop
« on: May 03, 2016, 06:17:57 PM »
I'm not an expert with computer specs  :-\ but I've been looking things up enough to get a general idea. I've been meaning to buy a gaming desktop that could run Sims 3 & 4 (with custom content) well without any lag. I know a lot of people go with either the i5 or i7 CPU, but I found this desktop with an AMD FX-6300 and was wondering if it's comparable.

Overall is this a desktop that will perform the Sims 3 & 4 on high settings (with custom content, expansion packs, stuff packs, etc.) without lag?

Yep, this should do well with both Sims 3 and 4 on high settings. As it's got a powerful processor, enough memory and great video card!!

However for Sims 3, please keep in mind there will still be some lag, stuttering and slow downs with Create a Sim, Create a Style and build mode. Also the more content you add like store content and custom content, the more the game will lag. This is due to the way the game handles additional content. Not much can be done to speed that up, unfortunately. But it is far less noticeable on a desktop.
