Fished up Emotion Potions?

Sometimes while fishing you catch an Emotion Potion.  How do you know which emotion it is?  Or is it a potion where if you already are in an emotion, like focused for instance, does it just act as a focused potion and give you that emotion for several hours?  Or is it just totally random?

I think it's just random. I hardly ever have my sims drink one, but the times I've tried it, they end up bored.

I thought those potions were the ones from the children's science table. I think if you drink them they refill all the needs... or at least the hunger need. I tend to just sell them to get rid of them so I can't quite remember what they do. I do remember that mostly my sim gets a negative moodlet from them (uncomfortable?) even though it fills a need.

@Joria, I finally figured out which potion I meant! It was the Health potion that you can fish up that restores a sims hunger and you can get the uncomfortable moodlet or the Smooth Sipping +1 happy 4hrs from it. I've found that if you keep the Health potions in your sims personal inventory and go through a few loading screens they seem more likely to get a positive moodlet from drinking it.
