I can't stop them doing homework.
« on: March 27, 2016, 07:12:28 PM »
Actually, it's a half question and half story.  I have 3 teens as I mentioned a lot. These 3 teens are doing extra credit homework even in low fun bar. No no..in fact, they just dance in front of audio when the fun bar is low, then they start to do the homework themselves straightaway after filling up their fun bar a bit to green. I usually give them free wills when their fun bars are low. Then they just start their homework with free will. So I let them finish the homework and stopped them doing the extra credit one. (Now I changed my game into English version, so I found the homework term correctly)

Today, it's Saturday. My family visited Oasis park. I let them play chess and asked their daddy sim to open the entrance of Forgotten Grotto. He was able to get into the Grotto, then I came back to Oasis Park with him straightaway. Then I found this.

This is the situation when their daddy sim just arrived at the Oasis park.

And I found what they were doing.

They already started to do their extra credit homework sitting on the picnic table..?

Should I hide their homework books? :D  I realized I can't stop them away from their homework books. They are too addicted to it. I don't know where to post this kind of half game story and half help question. :D

Lol, such a funny thing to 'worry' about if you compare it to real life!!  There are probably many parents out there wishing their kids would automatically do their homework over having fun etc.  ;D

As far as the game is concerned though you could just put the homework books into one of the adults personal inventories.  Or a storage chest. Generally if sims are focused they will start doing their homework so maybe the teens became focused from playing chess the the park. I think there is a push, in general, for kids with homework in their personal inventories to automatically do it. Especially if most days you have directed them to do this task.

As for entering a loading screen and the kids loading up doing homework... well that is because behind the loading screen the game is situating your sims in a suitable activity. For teens this could be txting, doing homework, chatting etc For adults it is usually something related to the emotion they are in.

Oh sounds great idea but if they WANT to do it, I decided to let them go. I respect their free wills and emotions. haha  I didn't know they are getting into the homework mood while being focused. For adults, they usually wait outside for their family in. haha..When my female wife sim was working for the detective, her husband was standing beside her in front of the home lot and then hugged her whenever she came back home from work. :D I liked this kind of his caring. :)

Now only 2 days left for one of them to be grown up to young adult! :D I'm getting excited how look the oldest boy will be in young adult.

I'm wondering ... would you happen to have a club gathering active when they insist on doing homework?  I've been playing around with creating "family clubs" where the household makes up the club members.  I pick activities I want them to do like homework, cleaning, gardening, painting, or whatever skill they are working on.  The adults get a boost to careers, and you can pick boosts to the skills you want them to work on.  Anyway, whenever I have homework on the list of activities, I can't keep the kids from doing it, even when they have needs in the red.  It's funny to see the kid barely able to sit at the table insisting they finish the homework before sleeping; if only real life kids were partially as interested!

Oh..hmm..Sorry I haven't got Get Together Yet. :)  I have a female child. She doesn't start her homework straightaway after school. I just let her fill up her fun bar herself. I see she starts to do her homework when her needs bar are all comfortable.(all green) in my game. :)
