I just want portraits...

So a thing I've always wanted to do with sims 4 is have portraits of each heir from throughout a legacy challenge but it feels like the game is fighting me at every step. Painting from reference just doesn't make quality sim portraits and photos aren't big enough or shaped correctly to create the portrait feel I want, I've tried re-sizing them and it makes the image pixilated. Are their any mods or CC that could help me?

All I can add is that when painting portraits use lots and lots of light when capturing the Sim to be painted. Also, when zooming out the pixelation isn't all that bad in my humble opinion. Hmm, I wonder if it's possible to enlarge photos like you can other things? I've never tried.
