Aging Issue and Question
« on: February 29, 2016, 12:59:39 AM »
Hi, I'm trying out the Build a City Challenge and finally got to the point of one of the adult children moving out and making his own household. I have my options set to aging on for played sims and aging off for unplayed sims. I played his household for 1 sim week and just now went back to his parents house (so far the only 2 households) only to find that his youngest sister is now a teen (she was a child when he left) and his father died and his mother is an elder now (she was adult before). What's up w/this? They were unplayed sims at that time and they *shouldn't* have aged up!! Does anybody know if this is a new bug or what? Now I have to use some cheats to resurrect the dad b/c I am not willing to just have him poof out of the game completely. To my understanding, when I have the "auto age unplayed sims" UN-checked, they should NOT age.

There's a setting that you have to check for aging on for active household only. I believe it's because the house was played once.

Nope! There's only the two options auto age played sims and auto age unplayed sims. I had the latter unchecked and the former checked.

If you check the drop down box next to auto age sims, there is an option that says auto age active household only. That's the one you want checked. Because you had auto age for played sims checked, thats why your previous household aged because you had played them.

Ok, thanks! I'll have to remember this in the future.

Yeah, found that out the hard way myself when I started rotational play.
