As I said, it doesn't provide an extension of life, but a reduction of the chance of dying each day; so it is in no way a substitute for regular means of life extension.
It's nor rare to find cases of athletics dying early or non-athletics lasting long, however, statistically, the former should live a few days longer. This is a tad more noticeable when playing at an extended lifespan, where the normal difference of a day or two becomes a week or a month (longer lifespan settings have lower chance of dying each day past the age limit)
