Charismatic and Never Dull

I have a sim working on his visas in the other countries. He took the Charisma skill, and has the Charismatic trait. My question is, though, since he has Charismatic and can repeat interactions using that, would Never Dull be a waste of LTR points? They seem to do basically the same thing.

I had not noticed that the Charismatic trait lets a Sim repeat interactions without being boring.

It does. I was doing it earlier using your Seasoned Traveler walkthrough, which is what made me want to ask. I thought there might be a benefit I didn't know about.

I'm pretty sure there are limits to how many times you can repeat a social interaction with the charismatic skill before the recipient finds your sim to be boring.  You can't just spam "talk about gardening" 20 times unless you get the Never Dull LTR.

We're talking about the Charismatic trait, not the skill.
