Sims 3 CRC Error

What is a CRC Error?  I always select "Ignore" so that the games will proceed in uploading and I am able to play, but I can't travel anywhere.  I can have the Sims travel to China, France and Egypt, but the Sims cannot go to the University or the future.  I also, even though I have all the Sims 3 games, can only have my Sims live in 2 different places although I have several in the listing to choose from (picking one of the other places result in an error message and it kicks me out to the beginning screen).  It is very annoying not being able to have the Sims travel to the future or live in the different lands, especially since I paid $20 for each game disk.  Is this problem created by the CRC error?  How can this be corrected?  (I have uninstalled and re-installed).

What a CRC error (Cyclic Redundancy Check) means is that the file is unable to be read.

Does this error happen when you play a new game? Try playing a new game with a new sim to see if you run into the error. It may be that your saved game is corrupt.

Here are a few troubleshooting tips to try:

1. Run Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner  (Standard Edition is Free)

2. Repair Game - You can repair packs and the base game separately. Right-click on whatever pack or you want to and select Repair Game. Then go back to Base Game, and right-click on it and select Repair Game.

Thank you for your help.  I'll give this a try. 

I have, by the way, tried new Sims and all.  It just happens with every disk that I upload of the Sims games.
