Laptop or Desktop?
« on: January 07, 2016, 08:18:42 PM »
Are there any laptops/desktops in the 400-500 price range that will run sims 4 with all the eps? If not are there any good pcs in the same price that will?

No on the laptops. Or at least there isn't any that I would personally recommend. As most in this price range are more made for office/homework, watching videos listening to music and other light tasks. Not so much for gaming.

I'd rather see fellow Simmers be able to have a computer that will run Sims 4 well and have a good gaming experience. Instead of the headaches lower-end systems do have.

If this is your budget, I would go for maybe a desktop. But know that you'll want to upgrade the video card and possibly the power supply soon due to desktops in that range only comes with low grade video cards.

Depending on what video card you decide to buy you'll want to allow probably $200 more to cover a video card and power supply.

Thank you for asking!! :)

Do you know of any prebuilt pc that would do well?
I'm not a pc gamer so i don't know how to build my own.

That's actually what I was talking about - any desktop you buy within that price range - whether you buy from BestBuy or Amazon.com you will want to take it some where to have the graphics updated and possibly the power supply.

My best advice would be to save up a little more money until you have $800-$1000 to get yourself a desktop that will run Sims 4 well now and later on.

If you'd like I can give you an idea of what you would want to look for.

Alright, that would be great i could save $1000. But was going buy a cheap one to use now and save up later or learn how to build one.

What I'm more aiming for is something that you can get now and be happy with and not have very many problems that come with lower end computers and this game.

Here's what I've found - keep in mind these do not come with a monitor.

CybertronPC Hellion = $669.

AMD FX-6300 - 3.5 GHz
16GB Memory
GeForce GT740 2GB
Med/High Settings

==========
CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra = Price: $569.00

AMD FX-6300 - 3.5GHz
8GB Memory
AMD R7 250 2GB
Medium Settings
