Sims 3 Unable to Start Game Service Initialization Failed 0x024e424f

Me and my sister used to play Sims 3 all the time on our old computer with many expansions. Today for the first time, I decided to get out Sims 3 and download the game and all 12 expansion packs that I own onto my new Dell Desktop computer, which took me like 4 hours. When I finally completed the downloads, I was so excited to play! However, when I started the game, it goes to black screen and I'm greeted with a lovely "unable to start game service initialization failed 0x024e424f". I have spent a lot of time researching this and trying to fix it, and tried sooo many things, but NOTHING will work! Please help me! My computer is brand new so I know that it can run this game just fine.

It's been suggested in the link above to do a few things:

1. Try a factory reset with a new game with no mods or cc.

2. If you have the disc version of the game try the Super Patch.

- Skip this step if you've got the Origin version, as it doesn't work with it.

3. Delete the Cache Files (HowTo)

4. Run Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner

-- This helps clean up temporary files, internet cache files and other files that are left behind that are no longer being used.

5. Run the game/launcher as Administrator. Right-click on the game or Origin and select Run as Administrator.

6. Repair Game - In Origin Right-click Sims 3 and select Repair.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I tried ALL of these things and none of them worked! Still getting the same error. The only one that I was unable to do was Super Patch. When I tried to run it it said that it couldn't find the launcher anywhere, which is very strange... I have the game downloaded through origin and saved on my computer so I have no idea why this isn't working

EA's online chat tech support was really helpful to me when I had problems, admittedly not the same problem you're having. Give them a try.

Something else you may want to try is to Right-click Repair game on Sims 3 to see if that helps.

I'd 2nd KRae's advice and Contact EA if you continue having installation problems. They maybe able to help better.

I try turning off Wifi and playing offline for a little while, and that usually makes most initialization problems go away for me.

I tried everything here, and one of them worked! Not sure what did it, but thank you everyone!
