Sim missing work
« on: January 01, 2016, 10:44:02 AM »
Hi, all -

My Sim regularly tries to miss work without me choosing to do so. If I am actively playing her, I will get a Miss Work warning, which I can then choose to not skip/leave work (but it's annoying). If I save and quit the game while she is at work, when I start the game again, she will be home and there will be a notification that she left work.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggested fixes?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I do know there have been cases of sims being "reset" if the game is saved and exited while they are at work, I don't recall a fix for it, so maybe just try to save and exit either just before or just after they return from work! You can also try the usual fixes of clearing cache files, repairing the game via Origin, or doing a factory reset. There are some really good threads on the boards about how to do these things. Also, if you use mods or CC, try playing without them and see whether that helps. I personally have no mods or CC and do not have this issue (although, I do have some other career related ones, unfortunately)

At this point it seems as if bugs tend to be random. Some people get them and others (with identical setups) don't... I'm sorry that you are one of those who has this particular bug :-( it can be a nuisance!

Thanks, Magpie2012!  :) I will try some of those suggestions, and in the meantime make sure not to end a Sims session while she is at work. I also do not have mods or cheat codes so it's not that.

Not a big deal, just a bit of an annoyance.

I hope they work for you :-) CC actually means Custom Content, but I guess you won't have that either :-) I was an absolute CC and mod slave in TS3 days so I'm trying something new by only using official game content this time around. Its painful to see some of the fantastic custom hair and clothes out there, but I'm trying to be strong and not mess up my game more than it already is lol

Good luck and happy simming :-)
