Is this bizarre or normal Sims behaviour?
« on: December 31, 2015, 09:14:33 PM »
Original context of this was in another thread on what Sims do that annoy you.

I said
Quote
My kid's doll house kept on getting broken. I had no idea why and it made her very upset. Then one day I actually see Mr Malcolm Landgraab smashing it. What a prat he is.

I lured him to the basement, gave him a light, a chair and a fridge then imprisoned him with a rectangle of doll houses. That'll teach him. I also had people come down and say not nice things to him.

Then this happened.

Is this bizarre or normal Sims behaviour?

In another town, in another family, I am in the park on a date and I come across Silvia Maher (a child born to a couple in the house of torture). I thought that was interesting so I start chatting to her and become friendly.

Later on she texts me and invites me to her birthday party...ok,  I thought that would be interesting.

I turn up at the house dressed to the nines but there is no party and no Silvia. I look around the house and Silvia's bassinet is still in her parent's room. Last time I played this house she was a baby so that makes sense.

I eventually find all the adults (except Malcolm) in the basement around the doll house prison. They were all pretty upset and I wasn't able to chat with them much.

A while after I get home I notice a BLT on the kitchen bench made by Malcolm about 4 hours ago.

Is the Sims playing with my mind?

I have no idea what is a happening in your game. lol. I shouldn't laugh but it sounds crazy! Did you travel immediately to the party when the invite came via the automatic travel screen that the game 'forces' on you when you accept an invite? Or did you direct your sim to travel there yourself?

The travel happened more or less directly after I said yes. I was having a good time with my new girl friend at the time too.
I should have done screen shots. It felt a bit surreal.

Well... then you definitely did the right thing re: the party. I have no idea why it then didn't happen apart from guessing that Malcolm died and everyone was busy mourning him maybe? Weirder stories I guess!  ;)

So can ghosts make a BLT and leave it on your bench?  :o

Not normally no... but then who were all the adults mourning? I'd put it all down to some strange glitch. You'll probably find that when you go back into your game it is all as it should be.

Welcome to the Forum, CoolCafe!

Ghosts can cook -- mine occasionally do. I'm not sure that Malcolm is dead, though. Once you leave a house, the sims within become free agents, so to speak. Any that you've imprisoned won't be there when you return. Did Malcolm leave a wrecked dollhouse behind? Sims tend to get very upset about broken dollhouses. I do like the idea of Malcolm being imprisoned by dollhouses, though -- a new version of The Cask of Amontillado.

I don't think Malcolm was part of his active household though... @CoolCafe  ?

Several of the doll houses were smashed. Pretty much how it was the last time I played that house. That's correct Playalot. In my current house I haven't encountered Malcolm at all except for the BLT.

O_O disturbing thought: what if the game turned Malcolm invisible O_O so he's still there to terrorise everyone but you just can't see him O_O *shudder*

I went back to this house today to play it and all the Sims except 1 are gone. It was a full house including a married couple and a new baby.
Surely this isn't meant to happen?
