Splitting up household: Who gets Household inventory?
« on: August 18, 2011, 11:44:03 PM »
I originally had 3 sims living together ( a couple and their friend). Now I just had the friend get married and his wife moved into the house so now I have two couples. I want them to live in separate houses now but I want my newly married Sims to keep the Household inventory. Do I have the newlyweds keep the house they're in and kick out the other married couple? My current thought is to go through Edit town, Split up the Household and get the other married couple out that way but I don't know what that means as far as the house inventory. Help!

Welcome to the forum! You can just have the people you don't want there anymore move out. Just keep your active household be the sims you want. Hope this helps!

From what I can tell the sim who gets the bulk of the household inventory is whoever is left in the house. Basically the last sim in the house.

I split my household last night into two families. It was the first family that got to keep the household inventory, money and house.

However, this was when I used the evict option. I haven't tried the move by phone/computer option.

Moved out the 2nd family via the phone and it looks like they split the household cash and ended up getting the family inventory. The first family got to keep the house and what items were placed.

When I tried the kickout option all the 2nd family got was half money and no family inventory.

I'd also like to hear what @Schipperke  has to say.
