Gallery downloads
« on: October 14, 2015, 05:54:51 PM »
Does anyone else have a problem with the gallery not tracking downloads properly? Depending on where I click the link to each of my downloads as to how many downloads it says it has. Does restarting the game help? If I click the most recent notification in the panel on the right under the 'home' tab, the number is still less than it should be. Doing a search seems to help the first time I search for it each day, but after that it gets messed up again.

I'm having the same issue. The numbers are different and restarting doesn't seem to help. The numbers are different on the official site too.

Also having gallery issues.  Has anyone noticed every time you browse the gallery your cache file gets loaded with every single thumbnail you've looked at?  I check my cache files daily before play so caught that.  Had over a thousand thumbnails from one stint of browsing.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

These are the cache files they are talking about, if I am correct.

I dont' know about deleting cache files. I clicked on your link Mrs Flynn, and what I have doesn't even come close to what you list. I opened Program Files 86/Origin and every single sub folder in them contain .dll files. I do not want to delete those!

Sonshine, you are right that you should not delete any of the files in the Program Files 86/Origin directory.  Please check out the link again as you went to the wrong directory.  The correct directory is:

     Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 >

Then look for the cache and files that are in Mrs Flynn's link.  I clear out the caches all the time and find that I have significantly fewer problems and glitches when I do.

I clear the cache files out after every game play session and delete and last exception files too. It really does help the game run with significantly less issues.

@Sonshine

That is not the path I was talking about. The path that you've shown in your post is where the game files are installed. NOT where the cache files are located. And no you don't want to delete the files that are installed in the Origin Games folder. As that will definitely mess things up.

Here's something that might help understand Sims a little better:

This is where your The Sims 4 folder is located:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
(game saves, cache files, option files etc.)

This is where your game files get installed by default
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4

Hopefully this makes more sense. :)
