@Ferretmania I don't think I have Geforce Experience installed.

@sone My driver is 10.18.13.5850 . It could be because I run win 10 pro, but nevertheless I would recommend to go to Nvidias webpage and check if there's a newer driver.

The easiest way is to install Geforce Experience and after installing it , launch it and let it check for updates to your driver.
Also make sure that v-sync is enabled ,preferably through Nvidias Control Panel (right click on your desktop and there should be a short cut to it in the menu) and also try disabling Origin in Game.

@Sonshine i agree , you shouldn't have problems with freezing up. Try enabling V-sync in the Nvidia Control Panel and maybe try disabling Origin in game

My cache folder was empty, and my cachestr folder only had the spotlight item in it, which I deleted. I've disabled Origin in game, and found that if I leave game then reload people are at work/school as they are supposed to be, and the maid service has cleaned while I was away. I was also wondering if anyone else was playing the downloaded from Origin version as opposed to the actual disk version, and if that could be a factor.

With Sims 4 it doesn't matter if the game is from disc or digital, they're both the same exact game.

@Sonshine Right click on your desktop and choose to open the Nvidia Control Panel. When it opens , then in the left side of the wondow there are several options. Under the 3D settings , choose "Manage 3D settings" and to the right there's a lot of different settings. Scroll down to Vertical Sync and change it to on

Ferretmania got to the post before me, Thank you!! I wanted to add:

You can enable V-Sync by going into the in-game game options > Graphics under Display. Checkmark Vertical Sync.

Since Sims 4 has this option in-game it shouldn't be necessary to set this option via the control panel.

Nvidia = Manage 3D Settings and look for Vertical Sync. Set that to on/off
AMD = 3D Application Settings and look for Wait for Vertical Refresh - set to on/off
