Turbo Careers
« on: July 23, 2015, 05:32:35 PM »
This new mod out by Zerbu makes all careers active careers like the scientist, doctor and detective from GTW. All the details can be found here. Looks fun! You do need Zerbu's 'Venue List Mod' installed for this mod to work but all the info can be found by following the link.

That might make them interesting to play again. I like the careers from Get to Work where you go to work with your sim.

Have either of you 2 tried it? I looked at it and though about it, but wanted to wait till someone has tried it.

@XxMousiexX , no I haven't tried the mod. On various other sim community forums there are a lot of posts about this and people seem to be really enjoying it. I just haven't had time to download all the work venues/lots etc that you need for all the careers for the mod to work!

The only problem I have is if you have 2 or more sims in one household working. You can only control one sim at a time at work. That's where the rabbit hole careers come in handy. I'll also look forward to whoever wants to "test drive" it.

I'm going to test drive the Go to School mod he also did which is similar.  If that goes well.  Once the child grows up, I'll try the career one.

UPDATE: I've had my first day at elementary school.  It went just fine.  However, definitely follow the building instructions about changing the lot's type to something other than whatever it is and then go back in and change it to Elementary School.  It didn't work until I did that.  My new student did all of her tasks for the day and went from C to B (she'd had one day of normal rabbit hole school).  This is also going to help a lot with her making friends her age outside of her household (I'm playing my orphanage lot).  If you're looking for possible school lots to get from the gallery, try the hashtag GetToSchool for schools.  Similarly, for career buildings, try hashtag turbocareers.

I hadn't tried the turbo careers but I am trying his new one. The Politics Mod Pack. I've only been playing it for a little while and just made it to level 3 of the career but so far it's interesting having a new job option. If this one continues to run smooth I might give the turbo careers a try.

Edit: The Sim Supply also done a video of trying the mod if you want to see what it might be like. Link to video.

My sim is now a young adult and I've been using the mod for her entertainer career.  I picked up one of the venues for Painter and Entertainer.  So far, it's going well.  The first few times she's been sent to that venue to 'train'.  When she became a Level 5 Musician, she began getting sent to the lounge in the desert world where her main task was to play 8 instruments.  I found that I could queue up just playing concertos over and over.  As soon as one counted, I'd stop the action and do the next one.  This was faster than swapping between the three instruments over and over.  The other nice benefit is she's earning tips all day. :D
