Sim Stuck At Work, but At Home

Hi, I have a sim who looks like she's at work b/c her thumbnail is grayed out. At the same time though, she is home from work. I can control her, but her thumbnail remains grayed out. I saved a copy of my save folder to my desktop and will save this game. I guess I can just wait and see what happens. If that doesn't work, is there any other ideas?

Edit: I just found out that she can't open the fridge to get a meal out.

Do you have other sims in the same household? If you do have you tried traveling to another lot and back again? Sometimes that solves this issue.

*edited or maybe planning the sims clothes using a dresser?

If you can find a way to make her travel, that should fix it.  Even if you have to temporarily move someone in the house with her (if she lives alone).  Then have that person travel.  Then you might be able to use the 'bring here' interaction on the stuck one.  I've usually had this happen if I saved and quit game without someone being at home.  So I've learned to only quit and save when all of the household are on the home lot.

Well, I just loaded up the game, and had her travel to the park,  take a vacation day since she was already halfway through her work day, and then come back home. She is normal again. I also got the msg that she had been promoted so I'm wondering if the promotion had gotten stuck.

It could be due to the promotion.  I think I've had that pop up on me as well.
