No visitors?
« on: October 05, 2015, 09:32:43 PM »
I don't understand why my sims friends, boyfriends etc do not visit.  They will all stroll on past but never knock on door.  I have a sim in different town and someone is always visiting.  Any reason for this?

I don't know the reason why that is happening but maybe if you use the 'Invite to hang at current lot' interaction on the phone with them they may start visiting after that.

Welcome to the forum, heatherott!

My sims never get visitors, either. It could be a matter of whether you have steps leading up to your front door. I've noticed that I do get visitors (in addition to the ones who arrive at the beginning with fruitcake) at houses that don't have foundations.

For me it seems to vary from game to game. Some games my sims never gets visitors and some they'll get them everyday and the game I'm currently playing they do get visitors but only on Saturday and Sunday, never on weekdays.
But the games my sims do get visits from friends it seems to be on games that I move into one of the pre-built starter houses. If I move my sim onto a empty lot and build a house or place one from the library they don't seem to ever get visitors.

For me, my first sim family never get the "Welcome Wagon Events" since there is no other people currently living in the neighborhood. When I place another, the event kick in correctly and I also notice to get visitors, your sim need to at least know someone. In my experience only Friends and up goes visiting my sim. However I did notice for sims not currently in the world, they are less likely to visit you automatically but maybe that is just me.

Only the next-door neighbours come right away when you move to a new house. Sometimes I get like maybe one person who wants to come visit ALL the time.

The rate of visiting sims or 'walk bys' was tweaked by the devs recently in response to people complaining about the large number of visiting sims. It is easy to invite someone to hang at your current lot though and there are still any number of sims walking by for your sims to run outside and make friends with.
