Bot Arena worker eternally "going to work"?

I am in the future, and my girlfriend is a Bot Arena worker.  It seems that every other day that she goes to work, she never makes it.  She goes inside the building, but her status remains "going to work" and she gains no progress towards promotion.  Is this a known thing?  Is there anything I can do?  I try to have her leave, and it DOES dock her experience for "missing work", but when she tries to go back in, it still says "going to work".  ideas?

EDIT: i also have her "working hard" and she IS losing fun faster than normal.  so somehow the game considers her to be at work, but gives her no credit for it. 

... i am so frustrated with EA.  i went over my budget to get sims 4, and it's even buggier than sims 3, so i came back to try some things i never had... only to find that they don't work either.

Well, just like being turned into a newt, she got better.  Before I posted the previous message, I tried exiting to the main menu, exiting the game entirely, and even restarting my PC... and still the problem persisted.  I went to bed, got home from work the next day (IRL), and I haven't had the problem since.  So... I don't know what it was, but it's gone.

Try clearing cache files, sometimes it helps to fix many bugs.

I had this issue a couple of times, there's no solution for this. I tried everything I could in game. It happens always while sim is in the level 3. I reset the lot in the Edit Town, I promoted him to level 4 by testingcheatsenabled true but didn't work. Deleted all cache files. I changed his work clothes but didn't work either. The final way I tried I promoted him to level 4 by Master Controller Mod and it worked!
