Thanks for bringing it to my attention, just in case. I haven't really made changes to ads recently (just took them off and back on), and certainly wouldn't want deceptive links like that since I do have many links within text on the guide to help people bounce to other topics. That would be trickery for us to have those, since it'd be hard to tell them apart. I despise these types of ads and wouldn't willingly subject readers to them.
Regardless of my stance, you're a member and I didn't install this on the site. When logged in you shouldn't see ads here on the Forum
at all.
That said, I'm wondering if this happens to you anywhere else on the web. I've had adware installed on my computer in the past that was just like this. It's not malicious per se, but they make money when a person clicks those links.
Some sites do have ads of this sort enabled by choice, but I'm wondering if this is unique to you or if others have the same problem. I just did some loading across multiple browsers, and I'm unable to see these links come up even after 10+ tries.
Could your perhaps get
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Free Edition) and see if it's able to fix this issue? Sometimes one malware remover can't fix something and it requires more work to identify and nuke it.
