Lost Sims Family, don't know where or how to find it

i have a 3 sims family which i play when switching the active house holds. 1st family were my main family, 2nd is the eldest daughter who have her own family, then the last one has her own family too. but when i'm playing the 3rd household, there's a notification that my main sims family moved in to another city, and now, i cant find them. i dont have any expansions yet. just the base Sims 3. where or how can i find the main sims family? can you help me, please? i put a lot of work in the main (1st) sims family, reached their goal and all. it's hard to let go and start a new one. help me, please..

Hi Chabz,

I'm afraid that if you haven't saved the family to the library before switching to your 2nd or 3rd households, they may be gone for good. Due to story progression being on.

However, if you save frequently, go back to one of your previous saves and use that. I highly recommend saving your family to the library before switching households just in case the game moves them out, or turning story progression off.

To turn off story progression go to game options (...) at the lower left of the screen in game. Select Options, then go to the Advanced Demographics Options tab (last tab) Uncheck Story Progression.

This will help Sims from doing whatever it is they want to do while you're not playing them.

You can use the twallan story progression mod which will not make family vanishing if you like switching households.

It can be a heavy mod slowing your game especially if you have big houses, lot of custom contents, lot of EPs, or a not very good computer.
