Random Pregnancy
« on: October 30, 2015, 11:03:30 PM »
Well, one of my sims just did a regular woohoo and got pregnant, so I canceled it out, but then later, when she wasn't pregnant any longer, and hadn't woohooed for a while, she went to work, and randomly, in the middle of the workday, she became pregnant. Anyone know why this is happening?

Hi Eckit, welcome to the forum. I'm not sure what you meant by 'canceling it out' but there is a small percentage chance that normal woohoo will result in pregnancy. I found that out myself in a game I was playing and was really surprised by it. As for finding out later... if your sim doesn't take a pregnancy test immediately after woohoo then they will get the notification that they are pregnant a little later that day. No notification = not pregnant, obviously!  :)

When my sim first accidentally got pregnant through a regular woohoo, I looked up how to terminate a pregnancy, and used the cheat given. I typed in what it said which was "testingcheats on" and then "sims.remove_all_buffs" And then I saved and went to "Manage Worlds" and selected the household again. The cheat worked and she was no longer pregnant. Than later, she hadn't woohooed since I'd cancelled out the first pregnancy, so I know she hadn't gotten pregnant again from another woohoo and found out the next day instead of through a pregnancy test. She hadn't woohooed for several days, and she didn't get sick or anything, and there wasn't even a notice saying she was expecting. Just randomly, in the middle of the day, the bump appeared and on her emotion/feelings thing, it said she was happy because she was expecting. Maybe the cheat didn't work or the game glitched or something. I cancelled that pregnancy, but then the same thing happened, so I cancelled out that pregnancy, too. Eventually it came back again, so I just had her have the baby and aged up the kid and have it live with a different sim by using "Manage Households". Thanks anyway!

It sounds like maybe what is happening is that the cheat doesn't work to cancel a pregnancy.  Could it all be the same pregnancy, and she is just showing it again at the time that she should be progressing to the next trimester (once a day)?

I don't remember where, but probably at MTS  you can get a mod to terminate the pregnancy. It sounds like the cheat is glitched or like Clay Mask said, it just doesn't work on pregnancies.

I think removing buff should not remove your real pregnancy status just moodlet that associate with it.

Exactly what dodi90 said, that cheat only removes the current moodlets, so your sim would have 'shown' she was pregnant when the next wave of new moodlets took place.
