Ghost Resurrected -- but relationship has changed

My Sim's wife died from drowning.  She came back as an NPC and haunted the lot.  I left a plate of Ambrosia on the kitchen table for her and she ate it and came back to life.  The trouble is that she came back as a finacee, not a wife.  My sim has spammed romantic socials to her ad nauseum, can woohoo, try for baby, but can't marry her. Has anyone else had this problem?

That she is his fiancée is as it should be; 'til death do them apart, they're married.
However, that you can't marry her again sounds like a bug and I cannot say why. It should work.

Spouses always come back as a fiance.  As Swede said, until death do them part.  One died, so they parted.  

Maybe try resetting both of them to see if the marriage option comes up.   Instructions are here.

I think there have been a few people with this non-marriage for resurrected couples before.

Thanks for the information.  It looks like I am out of luck with this woman.  It's too bad because she was a great Sim -- I made her to look exactly like Ginger Grant.  It seems that coming back from the dead not only reduced her to fiance, it made it impossible to ever marry again!   After several failed attempts to re-marry her husband, Jorge, I decided to have her cause drama in the house as revenge and to experiment.  She cheated on her finance (husband) and seduced his brother, Enrique.  Of course she was caught.  Anyway, she got her brother-in-law, Enrique, to dump his gay lover, who promptly did (because she was so fabulously charismatic).  I tried to get Enrique to marry Ginger, but could get past girlfriend.  He got the "go steady", but never got the propose option.  They practically woohooed nonstop for days but still no luck getting a proposal.  I also changed her name back to Grant (it was Rivera before death).  Still no proposal

So I decided to try my luck and see if she could get another sim to marry her.  So I thought she should seduce her boss (with the idea that after death, only her career was important to her, to blazes with the family).  She invited Yuri Ivanov over.  He took to her right way, of course.  This time, Enrique caught her with Yuri and slapped her around (no prompting by me).  Of course she responded by beating him up in the fight (she is more athletic than he is).

So now I will see if she can get Yuri to marry her. Yuri is currently single.  

Meanwhile, the glitch is just with her because her original husband, Jorge, had a second marriage to Ginger's old roommate, Mary Ann, without any problem.  It seems that the problem happens when you come back from the dead.

It might be part of an old bug. This happened quite frequently not long ago, but one of the recent patches has fixed it. Are you completely up to date with patches and updates to the game?

Hi guys, I had this problem too. My guy Sim and my girl sim are married. My guy sim decided to eat a jelly bean and died from it. (funny), My girl sim brought him back to life using genie. Ever since then, their relationship status was engaged. I didn't know about it until my girl sim gave birth and wanted to get married. (I freaked out badly). I went around looking for answers, all sorts of different suggestion. I was on the verge of giving up. They had nice house, I spend few hours on their house. *cries*. I had this feeling of letting them go overseas. Viola. They can now marry.  I don't know why (idky) it's funny and very weird. But I don't know how things will go when they get back home. They've got 8 more days till vacation is over. fingers crossed! I hope this helps!

What do you mean with "idky"?  We don't use abbreviations like that here because not everyone knows what they mean.  Like me.

Okay, I had this problem too. But I was able to fix it by having a wedding abroad. The option to get married wasn't there, so they traveled to France and it was there! They came home husband and wife.

Pam, I'm not exactly up on abbreviations either. I'm guessing idky is I don't know why, but I'm with you. I'd rather not have to guess.
