I used to lurk on this forum all the time, but the laptop I used just couldn't handle playing TS3. Recently, I got an iMac (the late 2013 model) and thought I would redownload the game, but it had to be done through Origin because the iMac doesn't have a disk drive. So I'd installed the base game and ambitions absolutely fine, and then went to install Late Night. On Origin it says it is installed, but in the The Sims 3 folder only the readme file is there, not the file that makes the game run. I thought it must be a problem with incompatibility with Mac/ Late Night so I carried on and installed Generations, Pets and Seasons. I then downloaded some of my Store content, but it would show up with the Late Night icon and would say that an update was available, but when I clicked to install the update the window would just close. Even if i started up the launcher through Seasons/ the base game, the store content would not appear in that launcher. So I decided to carry on without the Store content, which is annoying because I spent a lot of money on it.
So anyway, It booted up the game, it started fine and I could play for around 10 minutes until it would crash during CAS. I then tried again but I chose to start a game with Jamie Jolina in Sunset Valley to make sure it wasn't just CAS that was buggy. I changed her hair and outfits absolutely fine, saved the game absolutely fine, but when I went onto build mode to add a chess table, the whole game crashed.
It's so annoying because I was really looking forward to playing The Sims 3 again! I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar situation and if anyone knows how I could fix my problems?
