Riverview never finishes loading

This might not be new but couldn't find anything precisely like it.  Sorry if I didn't look thoroughly enough.

I have Sims 3, no mods, several expansions and, except for fairly frequent crashing, all has been working well so far.  Except Riverview never finishes loading.  It show as installed on my launcher and seems to be going about it's business but never makes past ~85%.  The load game is still functional/interactive but 20,000 (no joke) lifetime reward points later still no Riverview.

Have 're-downloaded it - shows up 2x in my downloaded content but still the same endless loading screen.  Every few weeks I try again.  Incurable optimist.  No help from EA live yet.

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope.

Hi Lais,

There's a few things that come to mind that may help. 

Turn Off Interactive Loading Screens - Go to Options (...) Select the gear tab, which is the General Settings, at the bottom of the menu uncheck the box labelled Interactive Loading Screens. Turning this off will help the game run a little more smoothly as well.

Have you tried creating a new game, and then load Riverview from there? If so, what happens? If not, give it a try to see if that helps.

You didn't mention if you have custom content? If you do, try starting the game without it, by opening the launcher, click the Installed Content Tab. Check mark Run Game Without Custom Content. Then click the Play button.

For me starting the games as admin,opt out of interactive loading screens and if that didn't helped then deleting the whole documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder helped.
To make sure the game starts as admin you need to go to the game's folder where the launcher and the client located. For me it is E:\The Sims 3 Szigetvilįg\Game\Bin Here you can find the Sims3Launcher.exe and the Sims3EPXY.exe (The XY is replaced with the expansion pack/stuff pack number. For me it is island paradise wich is EP10 so it is Sims3EP10 for me.) . Right click and properties>compatibility> and at the button "Run as administrator". Do this to both the Launcher and the client. It fixed the endless loading screen for me.
Your save file may be semi-corrupt. For this i can recommend clean-up tools such as OverWatch and MasterControl. Just install them to your game as a mod and go to the town center>Nrass>MasterControl>Town>Reset all. This handy little feature will fix most of the bugs and boost your FPS a ton. This is only usefull if you try to load a game,not starting one. OverWatch will run in the background and net out bugs like stuck sims what EA refuses to patch. Using theese 2 mods my save file never got corrupt (stuck at load or disapeard from main menu or loaded without sims).
Don't worry about EA. EA is about greed and what you see as the sims series is more of Maxis's work than those capitalists. If you want help you WILL find someone on this forum :3.

Oh,and yes. Clear the caches. XY:\Yoursimsfolder and delete the caches folder. It all can go.

Ugh. This is why I uninstalled this game. Oh, by the way, if you play video games, DO NOT BUY FALLOUT 3!!! It has the same problems, requiring you to clear caches every time you play, save often and such not. I made the mistake of buying that game. I will try to play it but seriously, don't even buy it.

I feel your pain. I suffered through a lot of bugs and crashes in Sims 3.
