Crashing during Grim visit

My game crashes every time while Grim is there to reap a sim. It doesn't crash at any other time.

I regularly clear my caches, have no mods etc.

I'm a bit flummoxed why it's only when grim is there? Anyone have any ideas?

I had this happened during my immortal dynasty, my founder died and the Grim reaped her but she didn't disappear. The game was on a 5 second loop and then crashed. Repairing, clearing caches and re-installing did nothing and I thoroughly checked my mods folder.

Nettlejuice, did you load the game up again afterwards and did it happen again?

In a previous game of mine it kept happening. Just in the process of trying my current game to check.

I assumed the previous game had somehow got corrupted. But after it's happened quite a few times over different games, assuming that wasn't the case.

I spent a full day trying to play the save. I ran an earlier save, one Sim day, and the same happened.

My game just crashed again, again whilst grim had just reaped the sim (but the sim was still on the ground and grim was still there).

I've just had a thought though. I've previously had crashes (when the game first came out) due to a large inventory. Wondering if because it's trying to put the inventory in to the household inventory, it's causing the crashes?

That wasn't the problem for me. Since basements were introduced I have kept spare items and such there or sold it if it wasn't necessary. Since my founder died I gave up on the file and deleted it

Luckily for me that seems to have solved it.

In the previous game my gardener also died (with all the fruit etc in their inventory) so it makes sense in my case. Still going to save when I get the grim notice from now on though! Luckily I had saved a few sim hours before.
