Catching insects in Sims 4

Could anyone please help me with catching butterflies in Sims 4? When I click on the butterfly, I only get the "Go Here" option.  Thanks!

You can't. Butterflies and fireflies are décor only. If you open your sim's inventory and click on the gem icon, you'll pull up a collection journal showing everything that you can collect.

Thanks, Marian.  I guess in Sims 4 we decorate with frogs instead.

Took me a little while to realise that butterflies were just for looks too. I kept trying to catch them with no luck.

If you own the outdoors expansion pack then  you can catch the insects. The way I know that is because I have all the expansion packs. I am so very excited about the new glamour pack. I will get it on tuesday when it comes out.

You can only catch insects at Granite Falls, not the butterflies at home if you have Outdoor Retreat.
