Alien craters

My Sim was given the task of "investigate alien craters" at work.  The craters are apparently around the science lab but I haven't been able to find them.  Does anyone know where they are located?

Yes, I found a geode out there and that completed it. Not sure how to describe them if you haven't seen one, it looked a bit like a short tree stump is the best I can do. When you mouse over it you should see 'Collect'.

If you go out the backdoor of the Since lab, go to the left till you see Tree's and a fishing sign keep going left and you will see it looks like the top of a volcano and it's green on the inside. there are rock's that you can dig up not far from it. Hope that help's

Underneath these three trees is the location of one of the alien craters. The next one is further round to the right in this picture, past the fishing spot.

Thanks, y'all!  I was looking for it, too.  I had found it earlier, but didn't know what it was.

Unless you are also either fishing, or have some other reason to wander so far afield, this task is very skip-able.You will generally get enough tasks to fill the bar without it. The craters give out pieces from the "Aliens" collectible set, but due to the long cool-down it is not efficient to farm them for the collection.
