Sims count

What effects the number of sims in say, a community lot? I recently installed LN and added a LN dance club to sunset valley. Whenever I go there, or any other community lot, the numbet of sims is always low, like 8 or so. What settings can I change? I am running fairly decent computer, quad 4 with 4 gig mem. The video card does suck though.

I am not sure if there is any one thing that effects the number of people.  I do know, that some nights, I will go to, let's say The Grind and there will be 15 people there, all on the dance floor and having fun.  A couple of nights later, will go back and there might be one or two people there.  In the high rise lounges, I don't think I see more than three people there at any one time, but the dives seem to draw stars and vampires.  I would like to think there is something that we can change, but I don't think so. :D

EDIT:  I just read on another thread about shift clicking on the ropes to change the options for what people to get in.  I did not know that, so now, I have learned something new also.

Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

The Exclusive Lounges are as they are called, 'Exclusive' and will not gather as many people but a Dive Bar is open to all so it will have more traffic. As for the Community lots being busy I think it depends on the Community Lot, I don't think there was ever loads of people on one lot due to performance issues on lower end computers.

According to the Prima Guide there are certain days and times when the places are 'rocking'.  I had my Sim go at these times and there were more than the 1 or 2 'customers' that normally showed up.

   * Dive Bars are busiest at 2pm for the lunch crowd on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Maximun guests are 8.

   * Dance Clubs are busiest on Saturdays at midnight.  Maximun guests are 14.

   * Lounges are busiest at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  Maximun guests are 10.

I tried this at both Bridgeport and Twinbrook.  I didn't try SV or RV as I haven't played those towns in awhile.  Hope this helps.
