Doppelgangers?

Right, so a strange thing happened when I was playing today. I had made two sims who were married. Then, the other sim met HERSELF at her job. So I invited her out to see what would happen - and then a doppelganger showed up! And she started hitting on herself. So she was kind of cheating on her wife, with herself?

This was the first time this has happened to me. What could be the cause? Has this happened to anyone else?  ???

Sometimes sims are copied by the game and turned into NPCs. It's weird but it does happen.
