Mods to automate cheats and other help
« on: January 11, 2015, 12:05:40 PM »
Hi

Apologies for any typos in advnce, I am disabled and find it hard to reach the keyboard.

I’ve been a simmer for several years now. I decided to stay with sims 3 as I have all the expansion packs and am working on getting the stuff packs. One thng I haven’t done is learnt a lot of cheats or used mods, but as I am staying with it I hope to improve my gameplay.

I have 3 mods from NRAAS: master controller and error trap (I was told make game smoother and help me reset sims if they get stuck but i only use a couple of buttons) and saver that reminds me to save regularly so I don’t have those 3 hour sessions followed by a crash!

I want to get more advanced though, preferably using mods rather than typing chet codes as I find typing hard

2: I plan to move to starlight shores, will the seeds from explansion packs that cme after like supernatural and university spawn there? Also, I got dragon valley for Christmas, is there a way to get the dragon eggs into other worrlds?

3: Is there a way to fid othe sims of a certain gender or age easily, for example mle dog or young adult woman. My yong adult sim married an adult who turned elder few days later

4: Is there a way to get a cowplant without buying. for example genie, crypt etc

5: Lastly, can you suggest any other mods that may help me? I can only get to china to get the martial arts stuff, and haven’t found the wine making stuff in france before th game freezes. I can’t get to Egypt

Sorry for all the questions, but I am wanting to get more from my game. Iam making ists of all the careers an trits not tried yet as a starting point. I also plan to find a quick an esy challenge to try something new. Any suggestions welcome

Thank you in advnce for your time and help

Hi CaptainSnicker,

I'd like to suggest a few of my favorite mods that can go along with Nraas's Master Controller. I also give notes on how I use them.

Traffic -- http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Traffic
- Kills Food Truck and Creepy-stalker Ice cream truck!!
-----
Register -- http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Register
Paparazzi = False
Show Notice = False
Set Animal Control (Population) to 0 for each animal
Kills some of the annoying pop-up messages recieved in-game.
-----
Overwatch - http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Overwatch
Nightly Notifications = False.
- Helps Cleanup game like stuck cars
- Kills more of the annoying pop-up messages recieved in-game.
-----

Another favorite mod I use is:

Velositygrass - Add Any Lot Size
http://modthesims.info/d/471164
- Create any lot size needed
- Example: AddLotSize 50 50

This is very helpful if you're a builder :)

I'm not much of a traveler in any of my Sims 3 games. I use testingcheatsenabled on, and then type in BuyDebug to bring up the debug menu. It will show up as a Question mark ? in the Buy menu.

It has LOTS of fun stuff that you can use in your games, including almost all the harvestables, and things from the different worlds, like the wine making items and martial arts stuff. It's a Big time saver!!

I don't know much about Dragon Valley or if there's away to easily find Sims/Pets that are of a certain gender or age.

If I may, I'd like to suggest a Project for you to look into. It's called The Random Town Jump Project
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,12430.0.html

You might find it fun and challenging too. Some people do the project and share their stories, others don't. That's up to you.

You were mentioning your computer freezing before you get in a lot of game play. So I wanted to offer this link of tips that maybe of help with that.

Tips to Help with Sims 3 Crashing, Lag and Other Misc Tips

Hope this helps, and Welcome to the forum!! :)

Hi

Thnks for the advice, and the email to let me know you'd replied, i couldn't find the thread at first!

One ting I don't get though, is by setting the animal contrl to 0 does that wipe them all out or leave them to go forth and prosper! Do you know if there is  way to control sim population in the same mnner, my town seems very empty. My teen sim only goes to school with 2 others, both boys, so hard to marry him off wihout making a sim and implanting them in the game.

I haven't installed Velositygrass yet, but sounds idea to install a dive lot in starlight shores!

I found all the stuff in the buydebug, thanks, no need to use my bugy world adventures

Hi CaptainSnicker,

You're welcome for the email reply. I've been trying to do that more for our newer members.

Setting Animal Control to 0 on each animal will pretty much delete all stray animals if I am correct. I set mine to 0 because it seems to bog my game down having a ton of strays.

I don't think there is away to control the Sim population in that way. But I've read some where, if you're town feels empty to move in some of the families from the household library.

I absolutely love Velositygrass's add any lot size. It comes in very handy specially when you want to add different things to your town. Just like you said - like a dive lot.

I enjoy using BuyDebug for when I'm planning out my garden community lots. It only gives normal quality harvestables and trees. But at least it's a start.

Thanks!

I think I'll keep my stray dogs until I can find a mate for mine (she's a super hunter and I'm hopint to pass the traits on as she's getting old), but if the extra animals cause bugs I've removed them. I spent a fun afternoon creating some families with mixed species, and discovered the play with genetics for the first time. My town was all human and I want a werewolf to sent otu a hunting!

I really appreciate all your help, at the moment I'm still working on getting sims 3 stuff so I don't plan to migrate to sims 4, I hope this part of the forum stays active. i can see i'll be needig help still, but i'm also learning a lot, so I hope i can help too

Oh, and I used the shift click on the mail box to know all sims, i think thts the nearest i can get to a list of them (i thought friends was going too far as i want the long distance friend reward), and i was right, the town is hardly populated! yet most of the houses show up in edit town as filled, so i think there must be a lot of singles or a bug?

I'd like to add further here that if you have NRAAS Master Controller, you can click on the City Hall or any computer, select NRAAS/MC/Sim/Status/Personal and then Gender Male or Female, then you can see how old each sim is. What Mrs Flynn suggested of populating your town w/sims in your library is great! Just go to Edit Town, and then place sims in houses available. Also, I think, if I don't miss my guess, in the Set Animal Control part of Traffic, you can control the number of animals you see. It doesn't have to be 0 unless you want it at that.
