Cheat: Resetsim (first name) (last name) And Death (Or not)

*Admin, I'm sorry if I wasn't the first person who discovered this, but I did search for topics about this. If I'm not the first, just delete this, I suppose. I'm still excited.*

I got excited because I finally found a way to get around death that doesn't involve having the coveted death flower! I was so excited. My sim, Andrew Garson died while trying to fix the television. I was contemplating having him die anyway, but he just had a kid. I digress. I quickly paused the game before the Reaper made his appearance and quickly punched Shift Ctrl C and typed resetsim andrew garson Enter, and the next thing I knew, he was no longer in the fetal position and the grim reaper showed up, then poof, he was gone again. I figured that I would share with the rest of you who might wonder how to keep your sim from dying prematurely. I feel like such a geek for getting excited, but I'm excitable like that... Wow I lost my testing sculptor in a fire and had to load... wish I'd thought of this. Good to know. Thankfully in my case I'd saved about 15 minutes before.

So in my beautiful little town without death I had previously, I could just have everybody brought back to life!
To die another day! (and then being lifeless corpses, death isn't coming back )

It made me feel special. Unfortunately, my game crashed and I lost the sims. So I have to start over with that family, making them the same as they were... relationship wise. It's all going to be fine. I just saved him for nothing...

I did this before. I was just messing around with testing cheats and I wanted to kill a sim, so I dragged the hunger bar down all the way, but I accidenly did it to both sims that I had and I didn't want one of them to die so I just reset him while grim was busy with the other guy.

Do you realize that you revived a thread that has been dead for over a year for a "me too" post?  Unless it's really some significant information, we really don't need to dig up such old threads.  Although, this will probably be interesting to other members now that it's dug up.

Hi there, I am fairly new to this world and I love it. My sim almost died from starvation but I was able to resetSim right before the reaper showed up. But now whenever my sim is around everyone outside the household cries and mourns as if he is dead. Did anyone else experience this? Is there anyway to make it stop?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's a bug. It was caused by the fact that he should have died, but you reset him. Try having him eat ambrosia to make sure the game isn't counting him as a playable ghost.

Welcome to our Forum, rayray.

I'm a little curious about why you starved your Sim, but didn't let him die. Death is the only outcome if you go so long without feeding your Sim. I don't know if Lisa's suggestion will help you because making Ambrosia required very high levels of the cooking, gardening, and fishing skills. If your Sim wasn't allowed to eat, I'm guessing he wasn't a master chef.

I did this when I first started playing and a glitch happened to my savefile, I had groups of people mourning the sim who was alive due to this glitch, I don't suggest doing it unless you're okay with using resetsim *.

This may've been fixed as I did this before Ambitions was released, but just saying my experience
