Sims 4 can't sell paintings/plants

i tried to sell it form the personal inventory and there was no option. And when I go to the household inventory in build and buy mode (I made sure it was on show all) nothing is in there, they only show up in the personal inventory.

Welcome to our Forum, andybirdy1.  When you open up personal inventory, there is a box on the left side where you drag the painting and drop it there to sell.  If you hover over the box, it will say "Drag and drop the item here to sell an item".  If you don't see this box, your game might be bugged, try repairing game via origin.

Personal inventory and household inventory are 2 different thing, what is in your personal inventory won't be in your household inventory, vice versa.
