Vampires in the Future

Ugh... So, do vampires not exist in the future or what? Both of my Sims are vampires but none of their descendants are. Is this because they can't eat?? Neither of them seemed to have gotten the memo that you can synthesise Plasma Juice... When the girl was a human she was perfectly capable of using the synthesiser but it seems she's now forgotten. I can instruct them to use it but they won't autonomously use it. Are these known issues? It's so annoying.
