Uninstall/Reinstall the Game

01.) Uninstall the game via Origin. [Right-click on the Sims 4 cover art, and select Uninstall.]
02.) Close out of Origin, and run Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner.
03.) Reinstall Base Game [Right-click on the Sims 4 cover art, and select Install.]
04.) Mouse over the Sims 4 cover art. Click on the little i (the more information button) to manage game packs and download or install from there.

Ccleaner - https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
-- This helps clean up temporary files, internet cache files and other files that are left behind that are no longer being used.

Here's a little walk-through that gives tips on how to zip up the game, so you don't have to re-download it.

Also, before uninstalling, back up your Sims 4 folder, for safe keeping. Move it to your desktop for temporary if you'd like.

Hope this helps, :)

If you're having problems with Sims 4 - Outdoor Retreat

It's been suggested to try a Factory Reset.

Factory Reset  (This is different from a total-game reinstall - This just sets the game back to factory default.)

Move your Sims 4 folder to the desktop or some where safe, and rename it something like Sims 4 Current. Go into Origin, right click on Sims 4 and select Repair game. Once finished launch the game to create a new Sims 4 folder.

Go to: ----> Documents > Electronic Arts >

to confirm you've got a new Sims 4 folder. From here, exit the game and copy your files and folders over.

Options.ini File -- Video and Game Options
Saves Folder -- Game File Saves
Screenshots Folder -- Photos taken in-game
Tray Folder -- Sims, Houses, and Rooms
Mods Folder -- Mods and Custom Content
