My Sims Game won't Update

Hello! I have been trying to update my Sims 3 game for quite a while, and by now I have gotten so fed up with it, I just needed to ask some "professionals". [this is with pictures c:]

So! First of all, this is my game's Version.


This is what it looks like when I go to Game Updates.


When I click "update now", it pulls up this screen.


Now my game freezes a bit, and I can't close the game, but sometimes it starts a loading screen.


Then after getting pretty far into the loading, it quits and this pops up.


Then the process repeats, please someone help!

SIDE NOTE: Before you ask, yes I have downloaded, and tried to install the Super Patch, but it says it is not compatible with my version of game.

Hi Amelia,

If I remember correctly, you are using a mac computer?  If so, I've got a few links that maybe of help.

If you haven't already, download and run Ccleaner and it's registry program. (It's Free) This will help with cleaning up temporary files, internet cache files and other files that are left behind that are no longer being used.

I know you were saying you have tried the current super patch and it didn't work, but I thought maybe mentioning that there is a Mac version might be helpful? Also with further searching, I found and added a couple other links from Answers.ea.com, and SimsResource. I am not very familiar with SimsResource. But thought I'd note it, as it has individual patch links.

And last but not least. I have been told by other mac users that using Firefox has helped them download/install stuff better. So I thought I'd recommend that as well.

Hey MrsFlynn,

I do use a Mac, and something happened. My game updated, but it went backwards. It went from 1.66 to 1.22! Also, I did download that patch and when i try to install it it says current version of Game cannot be used with this patch. I'll download Ccleaner for mac, but I am getting very frustrated, for I want this updated and fixed before Christmas.I will try out all of your links, and I hope they work.
