No ask to leave option since patch (Solved)

Sense the last patch I don't have an option to ask a visiting sim to leave and they're not leaving on their own, they just hang around. Only way to get rid of them is invite them to another lot then leave them there and hope they find their way back home.
I've tried restarting the game, rebooting the computer, clearing cache files and repairing the game through Origin.
Is anyone else having this problem and another idea to try?

I'm not sure if I have had this exact problem but I sure had some bugs that were game killers. So this morning I uninstalled TS4 through Origin, then installed it back again. All my games/saves are there, everything is the same apart from all those strange bugs have been fixed.

But basically you just right-click TS4 in Origin and 'uninstall' is an option.  It has made such a difference to my game.

Thanks for the reply Playalot. I had thought about that but was saving that for a last resort. It would take me awhile to re-download the game and install it again.

Done some research on this and found the answer over on the Sims 4 Forum.
It seems somehow the lot got changed from a residential lot to a generic lot.
The solution was simple.
Just go to manage worlds, then change lot type to residential. It'll prompt you to evict your sims, go ahead and do so, then it will prompt to go into build mode, do so, then go back to world, then move your sims back in.
I can now ask visitors to leave again or they will leave on their own.

Ahh, cool solution. I guess 'cos I'm doing a dynasty challenge where 'manage wolds' is banned I didn't even consider that as an option! Glad you found another way round the issue!

I'm glad I found a fix also and didn't have to reinstall the game. And after finding out what it was I don't think reinstalling would have helped this problem anyway. The lot would have still be a generic lot in my save game.

Thanks for this. It happened on one of my new saves since the patch. It was fun at first to have a lot of people in the house. But it turned out troublesome in the end.

@grimsoul , I'm so glad you posted your fix! I was just playing in a fun save-file today when this townie would not leave! She was in my sims bed and everything!!
Then I remembered this thread. Whew! it works a treat. I followed your instructions and within seconds my sims were back in their own house... by themselves. What a strange glitch, it was like all the townies thought my house was a venue.

Glad to hear it worked for you also. It wouldn't be so bad if you could charge them rent like they was roommates.
