Hard Drive Just Died ...

Hi all, the hard drive on my laptop has recently died. I did get a warning about it and was able to back up all the Sims 3 saved game files on the laptop to an external hard disk drive.

I have had the hard drive replaced (and updated to 1 Terrabyte) and the people who did that were able to restore the backed up files to the new hard drive. Now, I am reinstalling the sims 3 game to the laptop (Vanilla, HELS, ITF, GEN, AMB, NL, WA, UL) and I have a question.

The saved game data files were restored to the same place in my laptop directory as the old ones were. The user name on it is currently 'User' instead of my own name. Will this cause any problems with being able to access/play the saved games, and if so, how can I overcome them?

Hi Dek,

It doesn't sound like it will. So, when you start a new game it will create a new Sims 3 folder in your documents folder for the user account. Copy the old saved into that folder, and you should be good to go.
