It actually doesn't sound so unusual. Sims can live for more than 150% of their usual lifespan. I recently broke the record with an 152 day-old sim while playing with a normal, 90 day lifespan, and that is more than 2/3 of her lifespan asked on. 344 is 78 days more than 268, which sounds like a lot, and is a lot, but it's less than 150% of your usual lifespan.

I wouldn't worry. ;)

Thanks. My 344 day old has mastered athletics and did do the jogging thing for 500km so I guess it makes sense. Thank god you don't have to eat healthy though becausethe only thing my sims have ever eaten is cereal. Let's see if he can live past 402 or 150%

Lifespan: 100 days.

My sim, Matt, married one of the townies. She was a bit older than him and lived to 112 days. Not a vegetarian, only a couple of points in athletics and certainly hadn't completed the marathon runner challenge.

Matt, however, had completed the marathon runner challenge and had 10 in athletics. He died at 102 days... straight after his wife!

The longest-lived sim I had was a legacy spare that made it to 106 on a 90 day life span.  The funny thing is she had a twin sister who completed the cardio athletic challenge for longer life, and she only lived to 93 days.  Also, like in the post above mine, the longer-lived sim didn't do anything special to get the longer life.  She was just fortunate.

That's quite long, does your sim had a lucky trait or even unlucky that could cancel a death?

I had a sim reach ~120 (for reference, her son became an elder the day she died and she didn't have him the second she became a YA) but that's the longest.

I had an unlucky sim who got a few extra days out of a deal with death, even then I think he barely made it to 100 before croaking again. This thread is really interesting, I'm going to keep an eye on my sims now to see when they do die :)

I think they chose a different game length than the default.

:o

My oldest sim turned out to be 152 when I moved her into the house (really aged-glitched townie). I thought that was pretty darn old, but not quite there!
