Ground not absorbing water puddles

Does anyone know how to get rid of and/or prevent water puddles on the ground? After my Sim waters the garden the water that puddles on the ground never gets absorbed. Mopping does not work.  I wouldn't mind it so much except for the fact that the game treats the puddles like an object, but it can't be moved, and if I try to place another object on top, I get the "objects cannot intersect" message.

 I apologize if this is a repeat question, but I could not find an answer in the forums.

If you place floor tiles down under the puddles... your sim can them mop the floor tiles, then go back into build/buy mode and delete floor tiles.
I personally just leave the puddles, they do eventually.... eventually go away!

As well, the puddles only seem to appear when your gardener is low level.  Once they acquire a few gardening skills they can water the plants without making a mess.

I did have a sim who could mop the puddles but perhaps she had the 'neat' trait.

Neat sims can totally mop outside. They are quite handy to have if you like your garden looking perfect!

Thankyou for your suggestions. I'll try them.  Hope they work, if not, guess I'll just have to wait until the water soaks in.

One of my sims has just started gardening and had puddles that wouldn't go away. I clicked on them and she got the option to mop. Looked pretty funny watching my sim mop up grass.
