On his first visit, a few of my sims befriended Grim, how's this for creepy?

How funny! I love to see the official Sims stuff paying attention to our Forum.

It sure seems like it's easy to die from emotions! I guess that's balanced by it being relatively easy to calm down and much more possible to reclaim a Sim from death. But what if there's nowhere to sleep nearby?

Hmm. Grim. <looking at the picture> Yea, he surely has his softer side.

Great pic of him holding the baby, thanks for sharing! Remember a bench will suffice to get some sleep in. I'm sure there will often be a mirror (bathroom) if you're too playful. Given so many moodlets are 4 hours, it's likely one or two are close to expiring when you hit these levels unless it's one big one. In some of my tests, emotions wouldn't just go away with talking them out with a Sim. I guess it depends on the source, and some just have to go away over time. I need to do some more testing so I can give more definite answers. I need to do ghosts, so will be revisiting the various death types. This will result in emotions and death getting some edits.

That's hilarious and also surprising! How did they find it? I tweeted them back, which is probably my 10th tweet ever haha.

Thanks for sharing that!

I can't seem to get a Sim to die by emotions!  A hot-headed Sim where I have tons of Angry paintings... and even declared an enemy XD My sims are just ornery I guess.  Does anyone have a time frame about how long it might take?  Or what the percentage is?

@Shewolf13, do you have a sim that can make emotional potions? One of mine died because I had her making happy potions one after another, and I didn't realize that she would drink them all. It was quite a surprise when the Grim Reaper showed up.

Not at the moment.  That's off the kids' chemistry set right?  But how do the happy potions cause that?

@ Shewolf, I think lindsaysoderberg is referring to a level 10 mixologist who can make happy, energy, hygiene etc etc drinks using a bar. They are exactly the same as the ones you can buy using points from whims and aspirations.
If a sim drinks happy drink after another then potentially they could tip over to the point where they die of hysteria.
Still doesn't help you with the 'death by anger' thing tho!

Carl, I noticed while reading the death guide that you only have 3 Emotional deaths listed. But I'm pretty sure that a sim can die of Sadness? I think the mood has to be Depressed in order for them to die...

I believe those are all. Sadness doesn't kill you as far as I know, because the developers felt it was too close to reality. Some people do die of sadness in a way, and there's depression and suicide. While dying of embarrassment isn't that funny, the rage and laughter is a bit more on the humorous side.

Ah, you're right. I double checked the article where I thought I saw that but it turns out there are just three. I think I just made that up in my head.  :o

I thought the same thing before I started the guide and someone corrected me. I eventually looked into it, and its omission seemed logical on Maxis' part :)
