Thanks everyone for your comments. It was truly disheartening. :( Unfortunately no, no red herrings. Adam just plain didn't make it.

I'll be asking a mod to move this story to the graveyard soon, and hopefully will have something ready to post in the next couple of days. :-)

I'm very sorry to hear of your failed dynasty attempt, Whirligig.  Things like this happen to a lot of players.  I can only wish you better luck with your next attempt, and meantime I'll move this story to the graveyard as you've requested.
