Wrong wage for painter career?

One of my Sims is level 6 in the painter career. I have noticed a couple of times, when you get the notification that they are home from work, and how much they earned, that it says "they brought home $84 today". My sim is getting $44 an hour or something, and goes to work on time, doesn't leave early etc. I haven't actually checked the household funds to see if it is in fact only $84 going in, normally I don't pay much attention unless it says they've got a promotion.
Has anyone else noticed incorrect wages?

I get incorrect wages if I travel. Sim A goes to the park leaving Sim B at home. While Sim A is away, Sim B goes off to work. Sim A returns home before Sim B finishes at work, BUT when Sim A arrives home, it shows Sim B heading off to work rather than already at work.

That happens to me, but it's also done that for kids who are at school. They will be standing at the front of the house then just teleport away. I've never seen that interfere with wages, though. They've both reached level 10 of their careers and they seem to be getting the right wage each time, now. I'm wondering if I travelled just as they were heading to work (before their icon greys out with the at work thing), maybe they got stuck and missed most of work? I prevent traveling now until the others have definitely got the at school/at work thing.
