Mods Don't Install Into The Game
« on: September 29, 2014, 05:33:38 PM »
I put them in the right folder, but when I load up the game, they don't show up in the list. They're script mods, I'm not sure how to not let a file not zip when I put it in the mods folder. The only mod that works is a non-script mod.

what do you mean by "not let a file not zip"? the script mods I have only seem to work in zipped form, so I dropped the zipped files in the mod folder and they work fine. the instructions I got said to use the zipped format.

have you checked the "enable script mods" box? may sound simple, but gotta ask.

Make sure you've checked the "Enable Script Mods" in the options or settings of the game.  You'll then have to restart the game to make it take.

Yep, I enabled script mods. But they don't show they're in the mods folder, I have a few mods in the folder. When the game loads up it pops up saying I have mods, but under the script mod tab, there is no text. Even though there are mods in the folder. It only displays one.

Depending on the mod some of have to be extracted from there zip file and placed in the mod folder and others are left in zip format. If the maker of the mod doesn't say which way you need to do it look in the zip file. If it's a package file you need to extract it and place that file in your mods folder. If it's a pyo file leave it in zip format and place in the mods folder.
You may also have to ad a folder to the mods folder called unpackedmod. This will just be a empty folder but needs to be there.
And edit the resource.cfg file and ad the line DirectoryFiles unpackedmod autoupdate to it and save it.
And enable Script files in the Game Options / Other and put a check in Script Mods.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

Still not showing up, but if you have an unzipper program, how do you prevent it from unzipping the file?

Depends on the program your using. I use WinRAR and if I just click on the file I can view the contents without unzipping the file. Which program are you using? Maybe someone can tell you if you can view the files without extracting them.

Something called Jzip, which is a nice program.
