Common fish never found

I have had 3 sims go through the fishing aspiration and I have just caught my first Angler fish about 5 minutes ago.  This means I've spend well over 500 sim hours fishing and  I still have never caught the Guppy, Goldfish or the Red Tailed Black Shark.  The latter is rare, but the first two are supposed to be common.  Not in my two worlds.  Has anyone else had this problem.

The guppy and goldfish seem to be caught the most easily when fishing without bait, although I've also caught guppies while using guppies as bait. Silly fish.  My Sim caught them in the pond in Oasis Springs park.  I think it was Willow Creek Park where the red-tailed black shark was caught.  Using small fish as bait did work, but it took a long time of trying until it happened.

Thanks.  I'll just have to keep at it.  I'm determined to catch them all.  I've done a lot of fishing with and without bait. 
If I can't catch the guppies to catch the guppies, Huhmmmm
And over 500 hrs of fishing...come on...   What's with that!

I think I caved and bought a goldfish using the fishbowl!

Good idea.  I like it.  This am I fished for a full sim day and finally caught the Red-Tailed Black Shark.  I did however also cave and bought the goldfish and guppy.

I put them both in his inventory and the goldfish showed up in his collection tab, but not the guppy.  So...I bought some guppies and went fishing.  Expensive venture for a guppy.  Immediately upon arrival at Oasis Springs Park, the guppy showed up and his collection is complete.  Only needed one guppy and didn't have to go fishing.  Live and learn.  But Yeah!!!
