Dropping out of high school

Hi has EA considered allowing teenagers to drop out of high school? They really need an expansion focused more on teens I mean only 3 part time jobs? Only one high school to choose from no college, no Facebook kind of thing on the computer no texting I mean come on the game isn't all about adults the children have lives to you know.

Teenagers have the same life opportunities as adults.  They can pursue the same skills, go out on the town, make friends.  They can even buy property, which isn't possible in the real world.  It's a small town, so there's only one school.  That's the same as the real world.  I think it's pretty fair overall.

There were universities in Sims 2. They might introduce it again, it could work better with the new open neighbourhood.

I think EA is trying to encourage teens to stay in school by having consequences from skipping every day. As for more than one school, what would be the point? The schools are rabbit holes and the only difference would be your sim had less teen friends to meet. I'm not sure how texting and Facebook would work sims style. It would probably be similar to chatting on the computer (increase social and fun), which there already is.

I also think going to school is going to change a little when Late Night is released.  I read that children will be required to go to school, but I don't know how it's going to work out.  Up until now, the penalty for not going to school is a dire warning that your Sim's life will be tragically different and you don't get to choose the trait when aging up.

What about reintroducing the private school? I never played TS2 but in the Sims Life Stories they had private schools which you could apply for if you have good grades.

I haven't heard anything about introducing a private school into Sims 3.

It would be cool to have private schools in Sims 3, but they were there from the start with Sims 2 (at least I believe that was the case). If we didn't get them now at the start I don't think EA will care enough to give us private schools.

For dropping out of High school: Don't they have that? You can have your sim skip each school day if you can take the consequences of it.

They can even buy property, which isn't possible in the real world.

If teenagers can't buy any property in the US then it's something I didn't know about, but for all I know, there isn't technically anything to hinder them from having let's say their own apartment in RL. Surely teenagers can hold property?

I worded that wrong and I'm probably mistaken overall.  I was thinking that someone under 18 wouldn't be able to purchase a business or a house.  Or buy a car without a co-signer.

In our state of Arizona, USA,  a person has to be at least 18 years old to purchase property.  If I remember correctly it was the same in the states of Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.

The idea of teens being able to drop out of school maybe should be included for some of the 'bad' traits, like slob but I think to be realistic then a high school drop out should have a ceiling on some careers. So, for example, a high school drop out would be excluded from entering the medical career path and should not be able to reach level 10 in the military career track. Basically mimicking reality in some way as to penalize for poor education.

Personally I enjoy the teen years, they have so much more freedom and are able to expand skills without have to worry about much else except homework. I find it takes very little effort to get a teen on honor role and attending school.

I like the idea in part, like a teen should be able to join the music career path and maybe drop out of school... hey that's indeed a reality situation hehe

Or the Athletic career.

Also other careers could include stylist, the three paths of self employed, writer, ghost hunter, and maybe some other ones i can't think of off the top of my head.
