Sim disappeared when traveling - cannot reset

Send my Sim to a travel destination. He disappears, leaving no trace. resetSim does not work.

We have seen a lot of disappearing sims since Ambitions... I haven't had this problem myself, but someone here may be able to help you.

I'm going to try reinstalling WA.

edit: Uninstall/reinstall did not fix issue.

Wow, that is really strange.  You know, sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix some of these things.  I wish it did, but maybe the in game glitches, they just don't fix.

Disable, not delete, any custom content.  Do this via the launcher.

Do you have a saved game from before you went on vacation?  Load it up and see if the sim is there.  I've seen enough glitches with traveling that I always make a save before going.  You may want to get into that habit as well.

The same thing happened to me in one of many Wishmaster adventures.  I have no custom content.  I wound up scrapping that game and starting over.  Now, like Archer0 said, I always save before travelling - just in case.

Yep, I have one from right before he called the travel agency. I'll try loading w/o cc.

I'll also try traveling with another Sim from another neighbourhood.

Loading w/o cc did not change the glitch.
However, the Sim from a different neighbourhood I sent, had no glitch.

So... corrupt save file?

Sounds likely.  Either that or you've got an angry gnome invasion on your hands.

Hi,
My Sim disappeared too,but not when traveling-this is what happened. I have WA and Ambitions. I had a couple (Bill & Ted) who I decided to split up. I sent Ted off on his own and left Bill as the main character so that I could develop it further. Ted's house shows up on the map, as does Bills. But Bills picture has gone from the usual place in the start up screen. And when I go to play the Bill character all I get is the big map view and the house doesn't load. Even though I made Bill's house the main character for game play. This never happened when I had WA only. So yes I think you're right there is a glitch somewhere.

Am currently having this problem too. Its annoying, though if you save and quit, seems the houses in France (in my case) become playable. Though I didn't try this out so I may be wrong . My Sim doesn't appear though, good job I saved before I went on my trip
