New neighborhood-issues
« on: September 21, 2014, 04:30:50 PM »
So
I was in the future (the utopian version of oasis landing) then went home and decided I wanted to move house. In my household I have
1) Young adult female
2) Plumbot
3) Baby
4) (Most likely problem) A child that I sent to boarding school but, in the icon box at the side where you see sims' faces, only a grey screen appears. In relationship panels, it just says she's there, but no traits or face icons show up.
Anyway, I decided to move from my house in starlight shores to riverview. It starts off okay, with the loading screen coming up then choosing the house. However, after I've chosen the house, the loading screen comes on again, and then the loading icon goes, and so does the blurriness of the view. It's like it's in town view or whatever it's called, but there's no icons or anything, there's just the landscape. Clicking does nothing, there's nothing to click. It remained like this for half an hour until I had to ctrl-alt-delete and even then it took a while to close sims. I tried again but to no avail. Help?

Do you have a save right before you move town?  Load up that game, take child out from boarding school, wait for child to come home first before moving.  Try that and see if you are still experiencing the same problem.

I found this solution by ShanePause168 in the Sims3 official forum, try it to unstuck your child from boarding school.

3 Options.

Option 1:

You can, get another sim in the household to ask someone to move in with them, and then when you do, the boarding school sim should come back home.

Option 2:

Go to "edit town"
and then, merge another household with the current household, you do this by clicking on nother household and these little options come up (in the form of icons) and one of them says "merge".
And once you do that and return to the game, the boarding school sim should come home.

Option 3:

Go to edit town, and move the household to another house, then the boarding school sim should be back home.
